Grig is an alien navigator (his rank is Star Navigator First Class), who navigates the Gunstar ships and maintains life support and propulsion systems.
History[]
Grig first became Alex Rogan's navigator shortly before the invasion of the Kodan Armada. His home planet is in danger of attack by Xur and the Kodan Armada, including his spouse (who he calls his "Wifeoid") and his 6,000 children (who he refers to as "Griglings"). Grig fears it will not be long before his wife, children, and fellow members of his race will be sold into slavery by Xur.
Grig glorifies the battle against evil and has long dreamed of fighting a glorious battle against impossible odds (causing Alex to mumble that he is a "gung-ho iguana"). His personal beliefs appear to be heavily based on camraderie and valor, as one way he honors the memory of his fallen teammates is that he believes they are now "battling evil in another dimension".
After their victory with the Kodan Armada, Grig entreats Alex to stay and help rebuild the Starfighter Legion. He later pilots the Gunstar to Earth and meets with Alex's family and friends.
